Various programs build relationships within our communities

Bruce Power has many programs that cover various aspects of the business, including Indigenous?Relations, Emergency Preparedness, Environment and Sustainability and Physician Recruitment. These programs impact both the company and the community, and that’s why Bruce Power dedicates a large amount of resources to these programs.

Our Indigenous Relations program connects us with our local and provincial Indigenous communities, and seeks ways for us to work together to mutually benefit their residents and the company.

Our Emergency Preparedness program has taken great strides since a devastating tsunami caused a nuclear accident at Fukushima, Japan, in 2011. Learn more about how we’ve enhanced an area that was already a strength for the company.

The Environment and Sustainability Department is focused on providing clean energy that meets current and future electricity needs, without compromising quality of life for future generations.

The Physician Recruitment program is a partnership between Bruce Power and the municipalities of Saugeen Shores and Kincardine. Its goal is to successfully attract new physicians to our communities.

Bruce Power is also an active member of the CSA Group, which has long been a global leader in standards development, testing, inspection and certification. For more than 90 years, the CSA’s stamp of approval has helped to ensure quality and safety of virtually every service, product and system they encounter at home, at work, and at play. The CSA Group also works with industry leaders like Bruce Power, government and general interest groups to develop and maintain more than 50 nuclear-related standards and guidelines. Roughly 550 expert volunteers serve on more than 50 committees to work on these consensus-based standards, many of which are referenced in licences and compliance handbooks for nuclear facilities across Canada.
